Yei River Commissioner on Monday called on citizens to remain calm after what he described as ‘senseless rumours’ brought fears to citizens in the county.

Juma David Augustine said the statements circulated in the internet was individual position, questioning why people take individual statement as national issue that cause people to panic in the country especially in Equatoria, Easter Radio reported.

The Commissioner also described the wild rumours as baseless statement that emulated from unidentified locations in the internet.

Mr Juma reiterated that it was only political hypotheses and atmosphere of confusion in the country to incite fear to citizens.

He clarified that there is no person trying to fight Dinka in Yei and no Equatoria was threatened by Dinka in the county.

Commissioner Juma holds publishers of false information accountable for the panic caused to citizens.

The Commissioner was speaking during a radio talk show when citizens were thrown to panic due to rumours that Dinka and Equatorians clashed.
