Thousands of Christians in the Catholic Diocese of Torit on Sunday converged at Saints Peter and Paul Parish to celebrate the feast of their patrons.
Our Lady of Assumption choir joined their colleagues of Sts Peter and Paul to sing together during the feast of the seat of the Diocese, Emmanuel Radio reported.
Presiding over the mass Sudan Bishops Conference or SCBC Secretary General Fr Jacob Odwa called on Christians to emulate the two Saints.
He recounted challenges Saints Peter and Paul faced at the initial stage of building the Christian faith until its success.
Fr Odwa urged the faithful and the priests to continue preaching the word of God even if during difficulties.
He said it was the blood of Christians that built the Church since the keys were given to Saint Peter to lay its foundation.
Fr Odwa urged Christians and the priests to persevere and continue preaching the word of God to pass the work over to the next generation.
