Eastern Equatoria Governor called on Muslim and Christian communities across the state to work for peace and reconciliation.

Louis Lobong Lojore made the call on Saturday while delivering a message of holy month of Ramadan, Emmanuel Radio reported.

He praised the two religious communities for showing the spirit of brotherhood and tolerance.

The Governor congratulated the Muslim community in the State particularly and South Sudan in general for the beginning of Ramadan.

He stressed that no religion is above the other as they all speak of peace, love, forgiveness and reconciliation.

Lobong said the holy Koran is like the holy Bible and both Books command their believers not to kill.

He advised that people should not import other behaviours that destroy religious beliefs and African cultures.
