SPLM for Democratic Change chairman on Thursday vowed that political parties are up to save the country from collapse.
Dr Lam Akol Ajawin told CRN that South Sudan is at the verge of silent collapse, saying the country nears number one indices of failed states.
He explained that political parties as stakeholders in Addis Ababa peace talks would address all national concerns in a systematic manner to avoid sudden fall of the country.
Dr Akol said issues concerning constitutional reforms for permanent constitution would be worked out by the interim government of national unity, adding that long term demands should not bog down the peace process.
He said political parties would meet next Tuesday to discuss what system of governance could be suitable for South Sudan.
Equatoria, Upper Nile regions and SPLM/A in opposition acclaimed federalism as the most appropriate system of governance.
The presidency and some members of Bahr El Ghazal region oppose federalism, saying it should be deferred.
