The President of the Republic on Monday ordered the national army out from occupying schools.
Salva Kiir Mayardit made the order during a meeting with the Special Representative of the Secretary General for Children and Armed Conflict Leila Zerrougui on Monday who visited Juba to follow up the action plan South Sudan and United Nations signed in 2012 to end and prevent children recruitment into the army.
She said the President expressed very strong commitment to the action plan, ensuring that no children would be recruited into SPLA and other security forces.
The Special Representative assured that they will follow up their recommitment.
Ms Zerrougui demanded criminalization of recruitment of children into army, calling for peace to implement the action plan.
The Special Representative hoped the warring parties to end the violation of children’s rights in the new nation because UN does not want South Sudan to lose its future generation.
