The President of the Republic blamed Equatoria for spearheading federal system of governance saying ”it is a policy of divide and rule”.
Salva Kiir Mayardit accused opposition leader of introducing another set up to support of federal governance in South Sudan and gain the support of Equatoria, Bakhita Radio reported.
He disclosed that the request for federalism was not an issue for Equatorians when it was presented in 1947 in Juba, but it was the demand of all South Sudanese.
The President wondered whether it was Riek Machar who had the idea of federalism, questioning him of what he did to make him successful in federal country.
President Kiir made the remarks on Thursday during the briefing of the council of state and national members of parliament.
