Sudan People’s Liberation Movement or SPLM on Friday launched membership registration in Eastern Equatoria Counties.
SPLM State Secretary General Felix Okany told Emmanuel Radio that over 100 to 200 thousand members are expected to register.
He said the exercise is expected to end on June 30 and the results would be transferred to the national office by the beginning of July.
Mr Okany explained that the registration prepares the party for national congress, National Convention and registration with the Political Parties’ Council.
The Secretary-General said each party is required to have 400 members in every state to qualify for registration with the Political Parties’ Council in the country.
Mr Okany said a citizen of 18 years of age and above is legible to register as SPLM member.
