South Sudan Democratic Front (SSDF) was scheduled to elect today Lainya County new office bearers in a bid to strengthen its capacity after participating in the first multiparty elections.
Lainya SSDF acting Chairman, Rufas Wani, told the press that party members from all the five payams would meet today to elect the leaders at County level, Emmaneul Radio reported.The elections were to be held at Pajulu Centre, in Kenyi Payam.
Mr. Rufas observed that the party was operating in the county with appointed members who spearheaded the campaigns during the elections.
The acting party chairman said the elections results were fair.
He added the party was young and it would perform better in future elections.
Lainya County Commissioner, who also heads the County Security Committee, was expected to witness the SSDF election.
