The president of the Sudan Catholic Bishops’ Conference (SCBC) vowed to increase the cooperation between Sudan and Caritas International, the humanitarian arm of the Church.
Bishop Rudolf Deng Majak said today in Juba the SCBC would fully help Caritas to carry out their activities in the country under the banner of Sudan Aid.
Bishop Deng promised more cooperation, support and understanding on the part of the local Church.
Bishop Deng thanked Caritas International for its cooperation during the war.
He admitted that the SCBC did not answer to Caritas as expected due to war, low capacity and inaccessibility among other factors.
Bishop Deng thanked Caritas and promised to remain in partnership with the catholic international charity.
The SCBD president made these statements at the end of a five-day workshop organized by Caritas International to prepare Sudan Aid to respond to any emergency in the country.
