The Institute for Promotion of Civil Societies or IPCS on Wednesday donated fifteen thousand Pounds to Community Organisation for Peer Educators or COPE in Yambio.
COPE Executive Director Gordon Mboribie Angelo said the money was the first instalment of 30,000 Pounds budgeted for conducting civic education on the South Sudan constitutional review process for four months, Anisa Radio reported.
He said the project targeted youth, men, women, church and community leaders in Yambio, Bazungua and Ri-Rangu Payams of Yambio County.
Mr Mboribie explained that the money would be used for training nine civic educators, conducting 12 radio talk shows; three workshops in each Payam and eight meetings with community leaders.
He appreciated all members for their commitments, urging them to keep up the spirit of voluntarism that promotes COPE’s core values.
Board Chairperson Godsent Moses urged the Executive Director to successfully implement the project because good accountability would enable donors’ support to continue.
Two board and 14 COPE members on Wednesday discussed success of the project and encourage voluntarism.
