United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS on Thursday awarded certificates to 22 air traffic controllers trained at East African School of Aviation in Nairobi, Kenya.

National Roads and Bridges Deputy Minister Simon Mijok Mijak said they developed an ambitious action plan to build air transport within the country.

He added that was imperative and beneficial to connect South Sudan to the International Air Transport.

One of the graduates pledged that they would provide full services to control and make safety in the airport as they were the first batch trained to be air traffic controllers.

The graduate appreciated UNMISS for sponsoring their training.
