South Sudan Refugees Commission Deputy Chairperson on Thursday said they would join the world to celebrate World Refugee Day with a number of events starting with hand over of Police training facility on June 16 and construction of orphanage dormitory for girls in Juba on June 18.
John Jabi said the ministry of Interior would issue identity cards to refugees on June 20, Bakhita Radio reported.
The Deputy Chairperson said before the Day, the Commission together with partners would enlighten the public on the refugees.
United Nations Refugee agency or UNCHR head of Communications in South Sudan Terry Ongaro explained that this year they would work with refugees and internally displace persons in the country.
South Sudan hosts close to 240 thousand refugees from Sudan, Ethiopia, Central African Republic and DR Congo with 82, 482 in Unity state, 127 thousand in Upper Nile, 2,341 in Jonglei, 17,663 in Central Equatoria and 8,986 in Western Equatoria.
