The South Sudan Worker Trade Union announced plans to form Professional Teachers’ Union to address teachers’ problems in the country.
The Union Secretary Pasquale Michael told Bakhita Radio that the union would resolve teachers’ allowances and ensure that they receive equal treatment with other national employees.
He said they were working hard to see system put in place and rights of workers protected.
Mr Michael said Workers Trade Union was also working hard to tackle issues of corruption in the country.
He blamed the system of budget allocation and misused of resources, urging all workers to be transparent and adhere to the professional ethics.
Mr Michael made this remark on Wednesday during the consultative meeting of civil society organization on 2014/2015 South Sudan national budget that is due to be passed by the National Assembly.
