Eastern Equatoria Governor dismissed rumours that the current national government would be dissolved, saying no interim government without elected leaders.
Louis Lobong Lojore told Christians at Our Lady of Assumption Parish Church in Torit on Sunday that the rumours of dissolving the current government confused even his cabinet, Emmanuel Radio reported.
The Governor clarified that the cabinet would only be enlarged to accommodate some representatives of the opposition to pave a way for democratic elections in the country.
He said similar situation could also happen in states including Eastern Equatoria if there are people who defected to the opposition.
Governor Lobong warned people against defecting to the opposition with the aim of getting positions, saying only few from the opposition would benefit.
The Governor said the ongoing negotiation in Addis Ababa including civil society, religious leaders, political parties, aims at finding peaceful resolutions to the conflict.
