Eastern Equatoria Local Government minister suspected land encroachment responsible for a clash between Acholi and Lulubo communities last week.
Charles Ambrose Lokonoi told Emmanuel Radio that one of the communities might have encroached to the land of the other.
He said the two communities engage much on agriculture and do not have any history of violence and that land dispute was the only factor could trigger conflict between them.
Magwi County Commissioner Ben Kingston reported that some Lulubo youths attacked Acholi settlements at Kit, burning eight houses to ashes.
The minister said the report indicated that seven people were beaten, 16 goats missing and children displaced by the conflict returned home.
Mr Lokoni said he contacted his Juba counterpart to find out the root cause of the attack to resolve the matter in peaceful manner as the communities had no conflict before.
