Eastern Equatoria Governor on Sunday intimated that there could be corruption in distribution of plot in Torit town.
Commenting on corruption in plot distribution following Pentecost homily that politicians should lead people to a common good, Louis Lobong Lojore described citizens’ complains on re-demarcation at Hai Korton as corruption, Emmanuel Radio reported.
He said the only people to be relocated were those along roads, not every resident of the area.
Governor Lobong noted confusion where Torit Mayor, Commissioner, the minister of Housing and communities were involved in demarcation, approval and distribution.
He said several authorities cannot all be involved in approving land documents in such a small town.
The Governor called for collective responsibility to fight corruption in the state.
He advised citizens to bring evidences to his office or to priests so that the rightful owners get back their plots.
Torit Apostolic Administrator Monsignor Thomas Oliha who presided over Pentecost Eucharistic celebration said politics is a noble work if directed solely to the common good of a society.
He said every citizen has the responsibility and moral obligation to participate in politics of the nation.
