The new Eastern Equatoria governor called on the media to take an active role monitoring government programmes and activities of leaders at various levels.

Louis Lobong Lojore tasked the media practitioners to protect voiceless citizens against corruption and inhumane treatment.

The governor emphasized that during his term of office every political leader and civil servant will explain his or her role and achievements to the citizens through the media.

Mr. Lobong asserted that the media was to evaluate and sort out good leaders and those who did not perform up to the expectations.

The governor told journalists they were free to approach every office in the state to demand explanations from the officials in charge on issues affecting the citizens.
