Libya I Primary School Teacher in Juba accused Arabic pattern teachers for failing English Language standard in South Sudan.
Margaret Barsaba told CRN that some teachers do not know how to speak or write English fluently, saying they are the problem, not learners.
She added that training Arabic teachers for six months to teach English was inadequate.
Madam Barsaba observed that only private schools in the country have perfect teachers of English .
Madam Barsaba who teaches English to more than 100 pupils in Primary Six said class control, assessment and teaching practically is impossible.
The teacher observed that learners’ performance in Juba would not improve at all if classroom’s overcrowding and teachers’ work over load continue.
The teacher urged the government to pay teachers’ little salary promptly and commit to fulfill chalk-allowance’s promise.
Madam Barsaba said it is only through love for the country that teachers continue to work and that their discouragement would worsen the future of the nation.
