Yei River County Water and Hygiene Promotion Officer on Thursday called on residents to form water management committees to sustain water facilities.
Haji Elias Hillary said communities were not aware of sustaining water facilities and many were reluctant to contribute money to maintain boreholes, Easter Radio reported.
Mr Elias appealed to Municipal authorities to quickly demarcate residential areas to ease services delivery to people.
He called on citizens to boil water fetched direct from Yei River to kill germs that could cause diseases including cholera and diarrhea.
The Hygiene Officer also called on citizens to maintain the cleanliness of water facilities.
