Lakes Education Ministry planned to prioritize training of Secondary School teachers to address the issue of unqualified teachers in the state.
Education Minister Dut Makoi Kuok told Good News Radio on Tuesday that he attended an education conference in Juba where a program of training teachers was discussed.
He said the Ministry would have a budget for training local teachers and hiring foreign ones.
Minister Dut said the conference also discussed pastoralists’ schools in South Sudan to provide education to illiterate populations.
The Minister lamented that illiteracy was one of the factors causing conflicts in the country, citing the example where certain groups aligned with their tribes after the mid December violence.
