Many Christians from different Parishes, Chapels and Schools gathered at Sacred Heart Parish in Tonj South of Warrap State on Saturday to celebrate the feast of Our Mother Mary help of Christians.
Rumbek Catholic Diocesan Coordinator Fr John Mathiang who presided over the Eucharistic celebrations, encouraged young people to take the example of Mother Mary’s generosity to help one another and live in peace and unity, Don Bosco Radio reported.
He explained that in 1527, Our Mother Mary helped people of Europe during the war and she continues to help all Christians worldwide from their sufferings.
Fr Mathiang said the wine that Jesus Christ drunk long ago brought to Tonj particularly and South Sudan in general new blood, Missionaries, people of good will from around the world.
The Coordinator told Christians that God is calling South Sudanese to be his children, good citizens, leaders and parents.
Fr Mathiang urged all Christians especially young people to emulate Our Mother Mary in helping Parishes and Chapels to work for peace and unity.
