UN TRAINS EASTERN EQUATORIA PRISON OFFICERS

The UN office for crime is training prisons officers in Eastern Equatoria state.

Captain Isaac Abuaku Ameyan, the training coordinator, told the press that about thirty officers were undergoing skills training on best practices of prison administration.

Mr. Ameyan said the officers learned supervision skills, prison information management, treatment of prisoners, management of prison staff and standard prison administration.

He added that the officers were selected from the various counties of Eastern Equatoria.

Mr. Ameyan stated that the training was part of a wider formation involving more than 100 prison officers for different levels and ranks.
