A number of Murle leaders from Pibor County, in Jonglei state, were arrested Juba.
Mary Boyoi, a Murle popular singer living in Nairobi, said among the leaders arrested on Tuesday was William Boren who contested for a parliamentary seat during the April elections.Ms. Boyoi added that Mr. Boren and four other Murle leaders were arrested at their place of businesses and homes by military Intelligence.
She explained that there were rumours the detentions were connected with the issue of George Atho’s rebellion.
