Associate Professor of the University of Juba urged the President of the Republic and SPLM/A in opposition leader to love each other before extending the same love to neighbours.

Leonzio Onek told CRN on Saturday in a telephone interview that intellectuals want love and patriotism.

He urged President Salva Kiir and Dr Riek Machar to begin loving each other, appealing to all nationals to collectively work for peace.

Professor Onek said university staff members are not comfortable with salaries and allowances’ irregularities taking at least three months.

He criticised salaries’ delays as unjustifiable and incorrect, but that they are tolerating the inconsistency because of responsibility and understanding.

Professor Onek said university staff members watch the country’s emergency closely to see how things would be sorted out.

He revealed that they were not paid April salaries and yet May is ending soon.

The university staff went on peaceful strike in 2013 until arrears and allowances were reinstated in October.
