Yei Municipal authority threatened to arrest roaming goats in residential areas to curb crops destruction as a response to citizen’s complaints.
Mayoress Oba Cecilia Tito called on those with goats to tie them down to allow people to produce food.
She warned that local authorities would arrest roaming goats and charge owners or sell the goats to pay for the destroyed crops.
Ms Oba urged citizens to report to community leaders and chiefs any crops destroyed so that goats’ owners pay for the loss.
The Mayoress was responding to complaints of citizens due to many roaming goats in residential areas destroying gardens of maize and other crops.
