Tombura-Yambio Catholic Diocese on Thursday closed up a one year Conditional Cash Transfer Project designed to support orphans who lost parents due to war and HIV/AIDS including families taking their care.
During the closure ceremony at St Mary Parish, Project Manager, Waiwai Lino said the project catered for their education, health and other basic needs, Anisa Radio Reported.
He blamed some guardians of misusing the support given to them especially money, turning it for their own businesses instead of the main purpose.
The Manager encouraged them to continue supporting the orphans while the Diocese looks for some funds to restart second project in two to three months this year.
St Mary Parish Priest Elia Juma appreciated the great work of caretakers, praying that they continue with the same spirit.
He urged orphans to put education as their priority because it is the key to success.
