Religious Superiors’ Association for South Sudan or RSASS on Thursday revealed a plan to construct Humanity and Spirituality Centre near Kit River at Lobonok Payam of Juba County.

The Association Chairperson Fr Daniele Moschetti told CRN that the budget for the construction is two million US Dollars and that they are lobbying from overseas and within the continent to realize the dream in two years.

He welcomed any contribution from South Sudan well wishers.

Fr Moschetti added that the Centre would promote humanity and spirituality through formation and reflection by provision of retreats and training for young people.

The chairperson said the Association and Catholic Church leadership are pushing the government to reduce visa charges for faith-based organizations.

The Association Secretary-General Sr Anne Kiragu said they already got government’s recognition through registration by the Ministry of Justice.

She added that the Association would play a critical role in reconciliation, justice and peace by addressing challenges in communities through formation and reflection.

The 49 congregations’ Association disclosed the plan during a conclusion of a formation workshop on Thursday in Juba that drew together 72 members from different Catholic Dioceses in South Sudan.
