Catholic Bishops of South Sudan complained lack of concern from the top national government and the opposition leaders who failed to respond to their call for an end to war in the country.
This was the message Bishop Erkulano Lodu Tombe of Yei delivered through Easter Radio shortly after arrival from his pastoral visit to St Peter Mundri Parish.
He said they issued many messages demanding for an end to conflict but their appeals since January were distorted resulting into a lot of killings in Bor, Malakal and Bentiu.
Bishop Lodu added that the bishops see that their messages were ignored and not listened to.
He said the Catholic Bishops were disappointed after their voices were not listened and leaders did not respond to the voice of humanity by taking up guns for killing citizens.
The Bishop the bishops need inclusive negotiations to realize lasting peace in the country, adding that it was their mandate to work for peace.
