Sudanese Network for Democratic Elections (SuNDE) coordinator for Central Equatoria State, Zainab Osman, told SCR News that the workshop aimed at improving their capacity and the organization’s image as the referendum draws near.
Ms. Osman noted that insecurity, financial constraints, and staff poaching by NGOs were some of the challenges faced by SuNDE during the general elections.
She explained that SuNDE explored ways to retain observers by increasing their pay and overcame difficulties with security people by involving them in the training for the referendum.
The workshop was mainly attended by observers representatives from the different regions in south Sudan.
