Yei River County Health Department director advised public to keep their surrounding clean to minimise chances of mosquito breeding to guard against malaria.
Simon Loro said those infected with malaria should be treated to avoid further contamination, Easter Radio reported.
He added that malaria is preventable by slashing homestead environment and filling up sources of stagnant water regularly.
Mr Loro said sleeping under treated mosquito nets help prevent malaria, adding that the health department has plenty of drugs.
He discouraged citizens from opting to native treatment, warning of the danger of malaria.
Medical reports indicate that malaria cases are increasing among children and adults during rainy season.
