Darfur Community Representative in Yambio on Thursday urged the government to offer protection to foreigners especially Darfurians living in the country.

Abubakar Abdullah Mohamed told Anisa Radio that they sought refuge in South Sudan because of the ongoing war in Darfur and that they would not take part in any political or military activities in the country.

The representative condemned the killing of their people in Bentiu after SPLM/A in opposition seized the city and that many innocent people died in cold blood.

They appreciated Western Equatoria Government for protecting foreigners and allowing them to carry out businesses peacefully.

The Representative made the statement on Thursday during funeral prayers mourning Muslims and non-Muslims massacred in Bentiu in mosques, churches and hospitals.
