More than 70 thousand civilians were displaced in recent fighting in Rashad County in the Nuba Mountains after Sudan Armed Forces’ offensive against SPLM-North in dry season.
SPLM-North Spokesman Arnu Ngatullu Lodi said most of the displaced are elderly people, women and children, Voice of Peace reported.
He added that they were hiding on tops of hills.
Mr Ngatullu said Sudan Armed Forces raided the villages of Rashad County looting properties and destroying boreholes.
He added that the ground offensive followed deadly aerial attacks on Sunday that killed many livestock when SC.24 jet fighter dropped ten bombs in the area.
Mr Ngatullu said the displaced are in need of humanitarian assistance.
