The Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Archdiocese of Juba told Rumbek residents to practise charity by helping those in needs.
Bishop Santo Loku Pio said Christians should support one another, the children and elderly alike.
He explained that by cooperating and showing love to one another, people differentiate themselves from animals, Good News Radio reported.
Bishop Santo told Rumbek Christians that many people are dying in South Sudan because of greed for power, discrimination and crave for material needs.
He urged all Christians to take Jesus as an example giving his life for the salvation of mankind.
Over 300 faithful in Rumbek turned up for the mass in the Holy Family Cathedral.
