Army spokesperson said the national army was ‘ready to repulse the opposition forces if they continue to attack Nasir, Ayod and Duk Counties.
Colonel Philip Aguer on Friday told CRN in a telephone interview that the anti-government forces continue to disrespect the Cessation of Hostilities agreement.
The spokesperson said the SPLA withdrew from Kaka on Wednesday when opposition forces combined with militias under Gai Yot attacked it on April 6.
He said the government forces were reorganizing to retake the area.
Colonel Aguer said opposition leaders did a lot of destruction and that fighting was ongoing in the area.
The spokesperson said SPLA forces would do their best to protect civilians and their properties in Shilluk area.
Colonel Aguer said opposition forces were advancing to Nasir but they clashed with the SPLA in Baliet County.
The Army spokesperson said Malakal was under proper control of the government and that opposition forces would not retake it.
