National Members of the Parliament and Council of State called for an urgent collection of dead bodies for decent burial, cleaning and spraying of Malakal, Upper Nile State before the rain increases.

MP Gatwick Lam Puoch told journalists on Friday after a one-day visit to Malakal on Wednesday to appreciate and boost the morale of the forces that, dead bodies were still scattered in the town without decent burial.

He urged the state government to immediately return to Malakal, saying there was only one Minister acting as state Governor, three Commissioners and one MP.

The MP added that absence of police to enforce law and order in the town led to continuous burning and looting of public and private properties.
