Government to establish general medical council

The Government issued a provisional order for the establishment of the South Sudan General Medical Council after signing the Council Bill.
 
Health minister Riak Gai Kok told the press on Friday that the signing of the bill and the establishment of the Council would bring an end to the wrong practice in the profession, Bakhita Radio reported.
 
He said the illegal international hospitals were running in the country because there were no laws to regulate them.
 
Justice Minister Paulino Wanawila said the Medical Council Bill would put right the malpractices of the profession in South Sudan.
 
He explained that medicine is one of the most important and sensitive profession in the modern life.
 
Health ministry would form the Council as soon as consultation with other organs or bodies complete.
