A senior Catholic priest called on the authorities and the public in south Sudan to start immediately enlightenment campaigns on the referendum.
Monsignor James Ladu told the attendance at the Governor of Central Equatoria inauguration yesterday that government officials and community members must start spreading information about the referendum.Monsignor Ladu revealed that the national television in Khartoum is working day and night towards unity.
He urged the southerners to speak one language on how to approach the referendum and remain united.
Monsignor Ladu said information must be given to all citizens in various communities across the south Sudan.
He added that the language used should be the one each community speaks.
Monsignor Ladu concluded that a conscious decision is better for lasting peace than an abrupt decision that may lead to war again.
