Bishop says no need for more ‘bloodshed’ in South Sudan

Torit Catholic Diocese Emeritus Bishop said the people of South Sudan suffered a lot during the liberation struggle and there was no need for more bloodshed in the country.
 
Bishop Paride Taban urged political leaders to lead the country peacefully, Emmanuel Radio reported.
 
He noted that peace in South Sudan could be achieved through justice, respect among people and dialogue to resolve differences.
 
Bishop Taban called on South Sudanese leaders to emulate the style of the former Tanzanian President Julius Nyere.
 
He thanked Eastern Equatoria government and residents for remaining calm and peaceful.
 
Eastern Equatoria is among the seven states which continued to experience relative calm after the recent outbreak of fighting in South Sudan.
