Cabinet approves African Child Rights Chatter

The Council of ministers in its ordinary sitting on Friday approved the African Chatter on Child Rights and Welfare.
 
The Acting spokesperson who is Telecommunication minister Rebecca Joshua told the press that the Charter would go to the Parliament for ratification and accession.
 
She said the Chatter provides protection of children guidelines and ensures child-friendly policies in the country.
 
Ms Rebecca said children should be protected against harm including prostitution, and traditional practices.
 
The Minister expressed government concerned about the welfare and protection of children.
