Monitoring and Verification Team was established to monitor the Cessation of Hostilities agreement signed between the government and the South Sudan Democratic Movement/Army Cobra faction of David Yau Yau.
In a statement on Thursday, the team comprised of two representatives from South Sudan Democratic Movement/Defence Army, two representatives from the United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS and two members from the Church Leaders Mediation Initiative.
The team would also provide early warnings and recommend appropriate measures and amicable solutions to any disagreement.
Church Leaders Mediation Initiative during their first field trip, visited Gumuruk and Pibor to consult the military command and civilian authorities.
The parties earlier agreed to immediate cessation of hostilities, firmly commit to non-aggression and refrain from actions that may undermine negotiations.
