World Health Organization Emergencies Director said women in South Sudan were at high risk of complications in pregnancy for birth surgery and has the highest maternal mortality rate in the world.
Richard Brennan said there were improvements seen in maternal mortality rate before the conflict, but now the situation has put the progress at risk.
He lamented that the conflict also increased the rate of gender-based violence.
The Director added that other aspects to reproductive health were destroyed including HIV AIDs testing facilities.
