Wau Mayor advised citizens of Western Bahr El Ghazal to buy goods from local traders in order to boost their small scale business.
Arkangelo Anyar Anyar while inaugurating Bagari Jedit Market in Wau on Saturday, said time came for South Sudanese to take over the market in order to control the economy of the country, Voice of Hope reported.
He advised women to take a lead in this economic revolution, warning citizens against dangers of foreigners’ control over market and national economy.
Mayor Anyar discouraged citizens from naming markets squares, roads and bridges with foreign names which do not give a historical meaning.
He appreciated the people of Bagari for giving meaningful names to their areas.
Mr Anyar called on the locals to supply the market with local products for traders to buy in the whole sale.
