Three people were killed and at least five injured following an attack last week in Lokurnyang, Pibor County, in Jonglei State.

A security officer told Sudan Tribune over phone from Bor that armed men loyal to David Yauyay, the UDF defeated legislative candidate, carried out the attack on May 23.

James Buret, a UDF member, said that Mr. Yauyau reactions to the electoral results are unilateral.

Mr. Buret added that after the election results, everyone left for their area and whatever happened afterwards was not a UDF decision.

The UN World Food Programme relocated ten staff from Pibor due to insecurity.

The area is short of food due to draught.
