A Catholic charity operating in Sudan is to evaluate current activities and emergency responses in a meeting involving all diocesan offices and international partners.

Sixty people from Sudan and other 11 countries are to meet in Juba in the Caritas Internationalis Sudan Working Group from Monday to Friday.

Luc Picard is the Church Partner Development Advisor for Catholic Relief Services (CRS). He explained to SCR News the organization of the workshop.

Mr. Picard explained that the purpose of the workshop is to discuss development needs in the Sudan.

He said the participants will also discuss ways to prepare the communities to take part peacefully in the referendum on self-determination for South Sudan.

The workshop is to draw some 30 participants from all the Catholic dioceses across Sudan.

There are also Caritas Internationalis members from 11 countries.
