Central Equatoria Education Ministry said academicians would research on the Primary Leaving Exams 2013 results released on Monday, ranking Terekeka County the first in the state.
Examinations’ Director Wani Lodu Lobuju told CRN in a telephone interview that after the production of results, some academicians would study the performance, county by county, subject by subject to determine factors leading to the best results in rural Terekeka County.
He added that Terekeka County emerged the first because only 113 pupils sat the exams out of which 111 passed, representing 98.2 percent pass compared to over 2,000 pupils registered in Juba and Yei River Counties.
Mr Wani believes the biggest number of pupils in Juba County with equal chances of most failing paves way to drop in performance, giving Terekeka a chance to lead.
With rural counties leading, Terekeka the first and Kajo-Keji the second with 91.2 percent pass, some observers say it is abnormal as urban schools are expect to lead in most cases.
The study once carried out would clarify factors boosting academic performance in rural schools more than urban schools in Juba City.
