Government spokesperson said the cabinet resolved that all United Nations Mission in South Sudan or UNMISS humanitarian operations would be subjected to thorough checking.
Michael Makuei Lueth told the press after the Council of minister ordinary sitting on Friday that the government would not compromise security at the expenses of relief to citizens.
He said UNMISS seems adamant on the demand for series of searching imposed, but they would not allow free movement of humanitarian aid.
The spokesperson reiterated that the government security remains paramount.
Mr Makuei said anybody who does not comply with the search order must decide as government was trying to avoid incidents of weapons’ seizure like that in Rumbek.
The spokesperson said they would revisit the Status of Forces Agreement in June, 2014 signed between the government and UNMISS to avoid further clashes with the Mission.
Mr Makuei continued to question the neutrality of the Mission in the conflict.
He accused UN Humanitarian Coordinator Toby Lanzer of encouraging IDPs’ camping in compounds as he did in Khartoum some years back.
Mr Lanzer could not be reached for comment.
