Musicians’ head urges colleagues, citizens to focus on peace, love

South Sudan Musicians’ Union head on Thursday appealed to his colleagues in the music industry and citizens to focus on peace, love, harmony, nation building and reconciliation to realize togetherness.
 
Original Ras Korby urged media and business organizations to help musicians spread messages of peace through their avenues to the wider public.
 
He revealed that a team of musicians was working to produce a new song beginning on Wednesday ‘Nina deriin salaam’, meaning ‘we want peace’.
 
Mr Ras Korby explained that earlier on he did a song ‘Stop the war’ and more many calling for peaceful co-existence.
 
South Sudan Musicians’ Union Secretary-General Peter Garang Ngarjok said the registration of musicians would pave a way for creation of database and avoid identity mistakes.
 
He added that musicians would conduct elections after six months.
 
The Secretary said musicians were source of peace and should not be associated to criminal acts once issued identification cards.
 
Musicians are working on the Union’s Constitution for registration and subscription at all government’s levels.
