Culture Minister calls on musicians to collaborate

Culture, Youth and Sports’ Minister on Thursday met musicians calling on them to collaborate by registering their Union and pay 100 South Sudanese Pounds as a registration fee and ten Pounds as a subscription fee monthly.
 
Nadia Arop Dudi told journalists after the meeting that they agreed with musicians to cooperate in uniting and bringing peace to the nation.
 
She recognized the crucial role musicians play in bringing unity, peace and mobilization of masses for cultural diversity.
 
Ms Dudi said South Sudan Musicians’ Union should be legalized in accordance with the Transitional Constitution of the country within six months.
 
Musicians’ Union chairperson Original Ras Korby said they were engaged in peace promotion, reconciliation and nation building through music in and outside the country.
 
He explained that they could not do more than musical role.
 
Mr Ras Korby said Culture minister empowerment and collaboration would boost musicians to perform far better and beyond territories of South Sudan.
 
He added that the long awaited formalization of their Union would ease operation, freedom and confidence in the music industry.
 
The Culture minister Nadia Arop Dudi blessed the Union to prosper amidst financial and political difficulty.
