Western Equatoria on Friday in Juba denied media reports that the government threatened people operating in the teak logging business in the state.
State government spokesperson Charles Barnaba Kisanga said there was wrong information printed in media houses both in South Sudan and Uganda which were defamatory to their Governor, Bakhita Radio reported.
He said the media Houses should asked the state government respond before publishing one sided story.
The minister added that some individuals and companies claiming to be working in teak business in the state were not registered in the state.
He explained that instead of going to the state ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to register, they went straight to the plantation which was a wrong procedure.
The spokesperson said the state government operates with a policy of cut one plant five trees.
The Citizens Newspaper published an article in November last year where individuals accused Western Equatoria Governor Bangasi Joseph Bakasoro of threatening their teak logging business.
