Lainya County in Central Equatoria started registering farmers to distribute seeds and other agriculture implements as the rainy season started.
The County Assistant Agriculture Commissioner Paul Logole told Easter Radio that extension workers would go to payams to register all farmers and wait for inputs from the state Agriculture ministry.
He said the registration aimed at exploring the number of farmers in the County.
Mr Logole called on farmers who were not registered last year to turn up in order to get seeds and tools.
The Assistant Commissioner urged the Local Government to avail transport means to his department in order to reach farmers in far areas.
Mr Longole cited few extension workers in the County as a challenge facing their work.
